Suffering
Success is not the greatest platform for sharing the Gospel - Suffering is. In the 23rd Psalm, the goal is not getting through the “Valley of the Shadow of Death”, the goal is to die. We die to sin, selfish desires, and our control and surrender ourselves to Jesus so that he can resurrect us. It is through the persecution of Acts 8:1 that the commission in Acts 1:8 is fulfilled.
God uses suffering to grow us in holiness. He will sacrifice our temporary comfort for our eternal good. As we suffer, we are called to suffer in such a way that those who see us require a Gospel explanation.
